Craig is a visionary technology executive and brings significant operating experience, with particular emphasis on start-up company funding and management, merger and acquisition sourcing and execution, corporate strategy development, marketing and technical operations management, and intellectual property licensing. He is currently VP & CFO and a member of the Board of Directors of a venture-funded solar energy company where he was responsible for raising an eight-figure funding from a syndicate of top names in cleantech venture capital. In addition, as the Managing Director of Genesis Development, he is involved in several intellectual property based spinouts, working with both Fortune 1000 companies and universities. Craig holds over twenty patents in process, systems and chemistry and has authored numerous technical papers on semiconductor processing. His early development work in the field led in 1986 to his founding Genesis, a semiconductor equipment company in the photolithography space where under his leadership the company sustained over 30% CAGR and EBITDA in excess of 20% over a 10-year period during which he built a global blue-chip customer list. In 2002, he helped develop and launch of The Ugroup, LLC, a strategy consulting, M&A advisory, and turnaround management firm focused on the semiconductor capital equipment sector. While there, he sourced and led the buyout of a $130 million semiconductor capital equipment company on behalf of a large private equity firm. The buyer recently exited this investment for a 5X return on invested capital. In 2006, Craig joined with Inflexion Point, a leading IP advisory and with Acceleration Ventures to source, fund and execute intellectual property spinouts from public companies and universities. Through the years, Craig has held senior management positions with GCA Corporation, the inventor of the wafer stepper, Applied Materials, General Signal Corporation, Bendix, and Plessey. He has consulted to both Japanese and European companies on technical, business, and market issues related to technology equipment and materials. |
